– This set was the most rewarding because it showcases a combination new techniques learned in this course. Having to use Blender over Cinema4D meant adapting to completely different tools and processes. Although Cinema 4D is an outstanding software package, Blender provides an excellent alternative with tremendous stability and being donationware means it is constantly improving while remaining affordable even for the more demanding users. Some of the main challenges include feeding groups of alien-like type into particle emitters, and designing organic patterns to match those created using Cinema4D’s mograph effects suite. Finally we also explore lens distortion and optical effect techniques.
